We just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our steel door that was installed last week.  Bob and Dennis did a super job!  They were so precise and took their time with everything and did a great job with the installation.  The weather was cold and snowy but that didn't seemed to bother them.  They seemed to really enjoy their job and were a pleasure to be around.  I think they left our kitchen and porch cleaner than  when they arrived.  Bob's help in expediting our order as were in a situation where  we needed a new door as soon as possible.

We were scheduled to have our windows replaced on Wednesday, December 7th. However, because Pat is such a professional, he visited us a few days earlier to ensure that all the information was correct regarding the installation. In our particular case, Pat not only dealt with us but dealt with our tenants also. Pat managed to get along with all these different individuals. At this stage, everyone on our street knows Pat, because he is so friendly and helpful. However, this does not prevent Pat from getting the job done. Build time was quoted at 6 weeks, took more like 4.  Installers Al, and his son Alex, arrived on time and did what was initially projected to be a 2-day job in about 7 hours. They were very pleasant and the installation went without a hitch. They took extra care to ensure the fit and finish was perfect. I don't think they even took a lunch break. Everything was cleaned up in a professional manner. The windows look great, and I can finally see outside of my house. Will have to wait until the heat of summer/cold of winter to see if they are worth it.... All in all an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

We couldn't be more pleased. Stopped at their showroom and saw several doors we liked. Maggie Schmotzer was very helpful and charming; she answered our questions, addressed our concerns, gave us a catalogue, and scheduled an appointment for Mike Schmotzer to come to our house. Mike arrived promptly on time. He was also very helpful and courteous; took his time answering our questions; showed us, on his laptop's screen, how the doors would look with the colors we picked; then wrote a quotation outlining the items we picked and everything that was to be done, down to the smallest detail.

We signed the contract April 8, 2011. On May 3, 2011, the carpenter, Bob, who was recuperating from knee surgery, called saying he and his helper Dennis could do the job that Friday and that it would probably take an extra half day Saturday to complete it. We were delighted to have the work done so soon after ordering. Friday morning they arrived, set up their tools, worked continuously, were meticulous about covering everything and making sure everything was done correctly. They were both very polite and cheerful, and they worked well together, with Dennis doing most of the legwork and Bob not letting his new knee stand in the way of his work. Bob insisted that every little detail was to be taken care of, and they went out of their way to do a few extra things to make everything look good. They completed the job Saturday afternoon as promised and it looks beautiful!

I am enclosing the Certified Satisfaction Customer survey that was forwarded for my completion. As you will notice, both the sales and installation process were done to our satisfaction.

I wanted to take a moment however to comment on the installer for our job, Mr. Bob Brill. Bob was both professional and courteous from the time he called to obtain the measurement for the job, then again when we spoke to schedule a time for installation and lastly while he was at our home completing the work. Due to time conflicts and limitation, Bob installed our door on June 14th. If you look on your calendar you will notice this day is a Sunday. I was not sure if I wanted to impose on an individual’s Sunday and did express that to Bob, however he assured me this would not be an issue. When arriving on the job, Bob reviewed the contact conditions with me and explained why and what he was going to be doing during the installation. As I watched and spoke with Bob throughout the process, more than a few times he seemed to provide extra care and special touches, as though he was doing the work on his own home. An example, all old caulking was removed and replaced, not just areas where I believe many installers would have caulked over or patched up the spot.

Bob is an asset to your company and we will certainly consider Metropolitan for future home repair projects. Twenty years ago we did have Metropolitan install windows and when the time comes again for replacements, based on this experience, full consideration will be given to Metropolitan. Lastly, not to leave out the Sales Representative where it all began, Mike was knowledgeable and we felt no pressure during the process. Again a very courteous and professional individual.

I was in the service industry my entire career and know that too often letters of complaint are written and too seldom letters of praise are written. This is a letter of praise for your employees. Guy is very knowledgeable about your products, answering all of our questions truthfully and honestly. If he did not have an answer he said he didn’t know but would get back to us with the information, which he did as soon as possible. He told us what to expect upon installation. He did not use any high-pressure tactics and was a pleasure to work with. Tell Guy to come out and take after pictures. The installers arrived on time and started immediately. I was impressed by the skill and resourcefulness of Don Schamus, who installed two twin windows in my first floor apartment (after first removing a large glass block window). For one thing, anyone who has to work on the side of my house where the windows are has to deal with the problem of access to that side. Don solved that problem in an ingenious way but even then the access couldn’t have been easy. He accomplished everything with apparent effortlessness.

I think that Bob Brill, who recently installed two front doors, and a cellar door back in 204, is a craftsman of the old school. He encountered some out of the ordinary problems. This time I had a irregular wall at the entrance and six years ago, crumbling sandstone walls and decayed wood in the cellar. The pride that Bob takes in his work is obvious and he has every reason to be proud of what he achieves.
I want to mention that on the cellar job, he and his co-worker alerted me to an odor of gas, undetected by me, coming from newly installed clothes dryer. Sure enough, it came from an improperly installed pipe. If it hadn’t been for them---well, it scares me to think about it!
I owe thanks to Bob fro 3 jobs well done!!! I also want to thank the young man named Dennis who worked with Bob this time around.

Prior to our accepting a bid from your organization for siding, soffit and fascia we had previously met with Guy Defebo (our sales representative) regarding windows. We did not go with Metropolitan at that time ….

Several years later, we were in the market again seeking work to be done on our home and we contacted Metropolitan a second time. We so appreciated that Guy Defebo was your representative who handled our case, he came back to our home treating us as new customers (although he remembered our first encounter of rejecting Metropolitan in the past).

Guy came to us with the same professional manner he reflected on our first visit never showing any resentment that we rejected his offer in our first meeting. He gave his presentation with the same wonderful spirit that his personality presents and left our home waiting for our response. We had several questions before we accepted the written estimate to which Guy responded immediately treating us with the greatest respect, not treating us as if we were wasting his time. We had a specific problem finding the exact match for the color we wanted the soffit and fascia and the doors we purchased to be.  Guy went to work making the extra effort to locate the exact color coordination that my wife (the boss) wanted, without hiss effort Momma would not have been happy, thanks to Guy!

Thank you for having representatives who are concerned for the customers and their needs. The reason we are so appreciative of your organization is that we met several companies who did not make such an effort to sell their product or believe we were serious in looking to upgrade our home and didn’t even leave a written estimate for our review.

After accepting the proposal from Metropolitan and through the completion of the job, we were treated with respect and professionalism - a job extremely well done. We are very pleased with the doors installed by Bob Brill, Dennis Hill and gutters by Mike and the attention to detail given to the job by Bob Brill, Dennis Hill and Don Schamus (who installed our gutters, soffit and fascia). We had a problem with one of the windows a couple of years later but they came out and fixed it. They took care of it for free, no questions asked. It wasn’t because of anything faulty they had done. The window had cranked out, it just came off.

I would absolutely use them in the future.
